Ownership
Ownership data is a service that helps customers to check Nordic companies’ cross-Nordic shareholder information (SE, FI, NO, DK). An ownership structure describes how a company is owned, directly and indirectly, by various shareholders. These shareholders can be private individuals or juridical entities. When companies own other companies, an additional layer of complexity is added. A complete overview of the ownership structure includes all shareholders of all companies in the ownership tree. Ultimately, all private companies are directly or indirectly owned by private individuals.
The search can be done only for limited liability companies (AB, BAB, FAB, TPAB) with the following search parameters: company ID, country code (i.e. SE) and filters such as traverseSharePercentageGte, levelLte and sharePercentageGte. Before using the data endpoint to retrieve full ownership data, users can utilize the statistical endpoint to estimate the scope of the expected response. Based on the search criteria, the service returns shareholders when UC has analyzed them for the queried company. Filters are used to scope the requested ownership structure analysis and data extraction. UC delivers the data based on given search parameters and takes no part in customer risk and compliance assessment processes.
- traverseSharePercentageGte This filter is used to analyze, identify and return the target company’s Nordic shareholder companies that own a given threshold or more of the target company. The service then analyzes and returns those companies’ shareholders and repeats the process until no further Nordic companies are found above the threshold. Technically, the analysis continues across all requested or available levels. This is an optional filter. If not specified (null), no filtering is applied and all available ownership data is returned.
- levelLte Defines how many ownership levels UC should return. This is an optional filter. If not specified (null), no filtering is applied and all available levels are returned.
- sharePercentageGte This filter is used to clean out shareholders below a given threshold in analyzed companies. It helps identify main shareholders and reduce noise from minor ownerships, which is especially relevant for publicly listed companies with many shareholders. Technically, only relationships with ownership percentages greater than or equal to the specified value are returned. This is an optional filter. If not specified (null), no filtering is applied.
Note: UC plans to extend this API to support Nordic companies’ global ownership structure branches at a later stage.
Monitoring
Ownership monitoring is a service that allows customers to subscribe to changes in Swedish companies’ shareholder information. The service monitors changes only for direct shareholders (level 1) of subscribed companies.
Customers can subscribe a list of Swedish companies (AB, BAB, FAB, TPAB) using a specified monitor type. The list can be viewed, updated or unsubscribed at any time.
Monitor type descriptions:
- OWNERSHIP - I want to be notified on all changes.
Assets
Assets data is a service that helps customers check Nordic companies’ or Nordic persons’ direct ownership of shares in Nordic limited liability companies. This service is particularly useful for fraud prevention or when identifying whether a person or company has ownership in Nordic companies.
The search can be performed using:
- Business ID for Nordic companies
- SSN for Nordic persons
- Country code (e.g. SE)
- Filter: sharePercentageGte
Before using the data endpoint, users can utilize the statistical endpoint to estimate the scope of the expected response. Based on the search criteria, the service returns assets. UC delivers the data based on given parameters and takes no part in customer risk and compliance assessment processes.
Note: UC may not have analyzed all Swedish or Finnish limited liability companies’ shareholders, meaning not all assets may be visible through the service. UC has shareholder data for all Norwegian and Danish limited liability companies.
Test environment
The sandbox environment contains predefined synthetic data to support development and integration testing.
Ownership test data
The sandbox environment includes a simulated UC Group structure designed to reflect real-world ownership relationships. All data is synthetic, meaning that company IDs and names are not real and do not correspond to actual entities. The structure is built to support testing of ownership traversal across multiple levels, with ownership relations starting from 0.001%. In total, the dataset contains 59 companies and 126 ownership relations.
Assets test data
- No assets are available for the top-level companies in the structure
- Assets are available for companies further down in the ownership hierarchy
Test IDs
- Use id: 5510433215 in the test environment to retrieve ownership data
- Use id: 5518227824 in the test environment to retrieve example asset data
